New Member Guide: Getting Started in SnowWalkers
SnowWalkers of Club Penguin (SWCP) is a Club Penguin army community.
Purpose
SnowWalkers of Club Penguin (SWCP) is a Club Penguin army community. Members participate in events, battles, community activities, recruitment, and other SWCP activities.
The SWCP website contains separate areas for different purposes. Major announcements and reports are published through News, while normal completed events are recorded through the Event Log. Upcoming activities can be viewed through Scheduled Events.
Battles are different from ordinary events because they involve SWCP competing against another army. During battles, members may need to follow formations, tactics, room changes, and commands from the host or leadership.
SWCP has a rank structure for members, Staff, Higher Command (HCOM), and leadership. Staff and HCOM positions are handpicked rather than being normal application-based positions.
New members are not expected to immediately understand every CPA term or system. The website, guides, Staff, HCOM, and leadership can be used when more information is needed.
Before you begin
Before you begin, this guide is written for people who are completely new to SnowWalkers and possibly new to Club Penguin Armies as a whole.
You are not expected to understand every rank, tactic, formation, battle term, or website feature yet. The purpose of this guide is to explain the basics in a simple order so you know what to do after joining and where to find more information later.
Some SWCP systems, event details, ranks, and website features may change over time. If anything in this guide appears different from what you currently see, follow the latest official SWCP announcement or ask a Staff member, Staff in Training (SIT), HCOM member, or leader for help.
Take the guide at your own pace. You do not need to memorize everything before attending your first event.
Steps
Steps: 1. Read the important SWCP rules and become familiar with the Discord server and website. 2. Create a CPAB account at https://play.cpabattleground.com/. Click “Create A New Penguin” and complete the account creation process. 3. After creating your CPAB account, message an SWCP Staff member or Staff in Training (SIT) member so they can help you with the next steps and make sure your account is ready for SWCP activities. 4. Check the Scheduled Events area regularly so you know when upcoming SWCP events and battles are taking place. 5. Attend events when possible and follow the commands given by the event host or leadership. 6. Learn the basic CPA terms used during events, including formations, tactics, bombs, max, rooms, and judges. 7. Check your current SWCP rank and learn how normal member progression works. 8. Use the Event Log to look back at completed SWCP events and use the News section for major announcements, battle reports, diplomacy, and other important updates. 9. Ask Staff, Staff in Training, HCOM, or leadership for help whenever you are confused rather than guessing.
Rules: - Follow SWCP and Discord rules at all times. - Follow CPAB’s rules while using CPAB. - Listen to event hosts during official events and battles. - Do not deliberately disrupt formations or tactics. - Treat other SWCP members and allied armies respectfully. - Do not share private SWCP information outside places where it is allowed. - Staff and HCOM positions are handpicked and should not be treated as roles that can simply be applied for.
Examples: - After joining SWCP, go to https://play.cpabattleground.com/, create your CPAB account, and then message a Staff or Staff in Training member to let them know you have completed it. - If an upcoming battle is listed for a certain time, check Scheduled Events and arrive before the listed start time. - If a leader tells members to form a line, follow the formation rather than standing somewhere else. - If you do not understand a command or term, ask somebody rather than pretending you understand it.
Warnings: - Never share your CPAB password or other login information with Staff, SIT, HCOM, leadership, or anybody else. - Follow CPAB’s username and account rules when creating your penguin. - Scheduled times, rooms, opponents, or other event details can change, so always check the latest announcement. - Do not assume every SWCP gathering is a battle. Normal events and army-versus-army battles are different. - Do not share private channels, messages, plans, or internal information without permission.
